Has anyone been traumatised by being sectioned?

I was first sectioned at age 17 for 4 weeks, it really traumatised me for some time, mostly due to the hospital staff treating me as a teenager rather than a young adult. Since then I have been sectioned several times ranging from 2 weeks to 6 months (which was in 2007). My sections normally arise when I decide to stop taking my meds. I have also spent 18 months at the State hospital in Carstairs, Scotland.
